Introduction
What IAESTE is doing?
IAESTE is a well-established international organization that has been connecting students with companies and universities for internship and exchange programs for over 75 years. With its presence in 80 countries around the world, IAESTE has established it self as a trusted platform for bridging the gap between students and the industry.
Its primary aim is to provide students with practical, hands-on experience in their field of study, while also helping them to develop essential skills that will enhance their career prospects. Through its global network, IAESTE has facilitated thousands of exchanges between students, universities, and companies, creating opportunities for cross-cultural understanding and collaboration.
What I did?
When I joined IAESTE as a product designer and design system creator, my first task was to develop a design system that would serve as a foundation for all IAESTE products.
To do this, I conducted extensive research into our pain points and identified areas where we could improve our user experience.
After discussing our findings with our product manager and stakeholders, we set goals for our design system that would address these issues and improve the overall user experience.
As the main designer for the IAESTE website, I collaborated with a teamof two other designers to create the final designs for the site.
We began by sketching out rough ideas and wireframes, then iteratively refined our designs through feedback and user testing.
We made sure that our designs were consistent with our established design system and met the needs of our users. Our goal was to create a website that was both aesthetically pleasing and easy to use, providing users with a seamless experience that would help them achieve their goals on the IAESTE platform.
Overall, my responsibility as a product designer and design system creator at IAESTE was to ensure that our products were user-friendly, aesthetically pleasing, and aligned with the values and mission of our organization.
Through my work, I aimed to create a seamless experience for our users that would help them achieve their goals and ultimately contribute to the success of IAESTE.
Design Process
When we decided to redesign the IAESTE website, we knew that we needed to start with research to understand our users and their needs. We began the research process with several steps, the first of which was conducting user interviews and testing.
This allowed us to identify pain points and issues that users were experiencing with our old website and the very first versions of our new website.
We also examined user behaviors, such as how they were navigating the website and interacting with its features, to identify areas where we could improve the user experience.
This information was crucial in guiding our design decisions and ensuring that the new website met the needs of our users.
In addition to user testing, we also consulted with our data analyst to gather insights from user analytics.
This helped us to understand how users were currently interacting with our website and where we could make improvements.
We also conducted a competitive analysis, examining the websites of our competitors to identify areas where we could innovate and differentiate ourselves in the market.
This helped us to identify gaps in the market and potential opportunities for innovation.
Overall, our research process was thorough and multifaceted, involving a combination of user interviews and testing, data analysis, and competitive analysis.
This research was crucial in guiding our design decisions and ensuring that the new IAESTE website met the needs of our users while also staying ahead of the competition.

Product Goals
To achieve our goal of gaining more users and followers, we took several steps.
Firstly, we made our website registration process much easier and more streamlined. We also conducted user testing on our older version website to identify pain points and issues, and then addressed these in the new website redesign.
Another strategy we used was to integrate our social media presence into our website. We added a blog section where we posted articles from our social media channels, making it easier for users to stay up-to-date with our organization and engage with our content.
We also added a feature where IAESTE students could archive their experiences and showcase them on our website, providing a platform for students to share their experiences and engage with others.
Another goal we set was to make it easier for students to submit their CVs directly through our website. To achieve this, we added a CV maker tool that allowed
students to create and submit their CVs directly through our website, saving them time and effort.
Finally, we wanted to make it easy for students to register for our events through our website. To achieve this, we streamlined our event registration process, making it quick and easy for students to sign up for events and stay informed about upcoming opportunities.
Overall, our goals for the IAESTE website redesign were focused on improving the user experience and making it easier for students to engage with our organization and its offerings.
Competitive Analysis
During our website redesign project, I conducted an analysis of our competitors to gain insights into their strengths, weaknesses, opportunities, and threats.
To conduct this analysis, I used the SWOT framework to identify key factors and make comparisons across our competitors.
I analyzed several IAESTE country websites, including Germany, Portugal, and Slovenia, and was able to gather valuable information about their operations and strategies
Through this competitor analysis, I was able to gain valuable insights into our competitors' strategies and identify areas where we
could improve our own operations and offerings to better serve our users
User Persona
Design System
As the product designer for the IAESTE project, one of my key responsibilities was to create a design system that could be applied to their website and social media channels. This involved researching the colors and fonts used by Global Iaeste and developing a cohesive color palette and typography that could be used
consistently across all digital platforms.
To achieve this, I collaborated closely with the IAESTE team and other stakeholders to understand their brand identity, values, and overall design aesthetic.
We explored various color combinations, typography styles, and graphic elements to create a design system that was both visually appealing and functional.
One of the key elements of the design system was the development of a header and footer for the IAESTE website. These elements were carefully crafted to ensure that they were visually consistent with the overall brand identity, while also providing users with clear and easy-to-navigate options for accessing
different sections of the website.
The design system I created for IAESTE provided a cohesive and unified visual language for their digital presence. By using this system consistently across all digital platforms, IAESTE was able to strengthen their brand identity and provide users with a seamless and intuitive experience when interacting with their website
and social media channels.
