Introduction

HRM, is a platform that delivers HR solutions to boost team productivity, accountability, and efficiency. For example, HR managers can access everyone's records, leaves, and payrolls, track everyone's attendance and get notifications about upcoming absences and time requests. On the other hand, Employees can submit and request their leaves download documents such as payslips, contracts, etc. This product has been designed to be robust, simple, and easy to use.

I joined from a very early stage as a Product and brand designer. I worked on all steps such as researching, comparing, ideating, wireframing the solution, usability testing, creating the design system and design guidelines, and designing the final visuals with another Product designer.

Approach & Process

I started the process with deep qualitative research to cover our research goal: Finding users' needs and experience with the currently available system of HR

Qualitative research

For Qualitative research, I interviewed 7-8 HR Managers who were our targeted users to evaluate their current process, work experience, needs, challenges, and pain points. I also planned to gather their opinions about the features they are looking for to make their job faster and easier.

Interview questions:

  1. What do you like most about the world of human resources?

  2. What is your favorite management style?

  3. How do you manage your collaboration task?

  4. How do you handle difficult situations with your employer/manager/co-worker?

  5. How do you communicate with your employees and assigned tasks?

  6. How do you deal with an unethical situation?

  7. How do you manage your staffing, training and development, motivation, maintenance, or other stuff?

  8. Which type of software do you use for your organization?

  9. How was your overall experience with it?

  10. What is your opinion if there is any application for HR management?

Definition & Solution

The problem statements

The company was doing everything related to HR and Hiring manually and was using Google applications such as (sheets, docs, ...) to maintain staff details and data; on the other side, every employee had their files with data on Google docs and Sheets. This way of working for the People and HR team had many risks of facing errors and compromising accuracy. In addition, it was time-consuming as more clickable irritation to reach the user's needs, For example, to apply for a few off days, they had to fill up different forms and submit and receive the results through email.

Based on the Problem statements and the data, I came up with these hypotheses:

A. Employee should use different sources/forms for applying or requesting things such as off days, changing the bank account number, or ... .

B. HR manager will receive every request through email, which the number of requests during the day is high.

C. The Vacation days sheets are not auto-updated based on the late requests, and it's confusing for employees to find out how many days have been left until the end of the year.

Solution

We reduce clickable irritation by organizing company info. Through an HR automation system, every data and quote will be collected & Preserved, which would be easily accessible by a dedicated person. Moreover, we make a notification feature for the product and make a backup feature.
Each data will be preserved safely according to its dedicated folder.
